California Baptist University, from Cal Baptist information website California Baptist University (Cal Baptist or CBU) is a private Baptist Christian university located in Riverside, California, about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. founded in 1950. About the Lancers The Lancers compete in the Western Athletic Conference after making the jump into DI in 2018. The WAC will be disbanding after this season. Next season, the Lancers will be competing in the Big West Conference. This is the first time the Lancers have made the NCAA Tournament. The Lancers have appeared in 5 NCAA Division II Tournaments. Their combined record is 7 5. The Lancers most recent appearance in that tournament was their last year in DII (2018) when the went to the Elite Eight before losing to then DII Queens University of Charlotte, 94-100. Queens is also making their first trip to the DI Tournament this year after recently jumping to DI. Both Queens and CalBaptist have remarkably similar school colors. But Cal Baptist isn t merging with Elon next year. Cal Baptist will probably stick around. |
